Flick was invited to spend the day with the class creating poems that shared with the world who the children are and what matters to them. The children then created a background for their poem to be put into their own poetry book.

From pugs to pandas, best friends to football, and homes to hobbies, each poem is an insight into what mattered to each child on that day. The Children showed great resilience and made many brave, creative decisions throughout the day.

Bruche Primary’s Short Stories -Year 3

Izzy Finds Her Friends

Izzy is all alone and no one answers her call. She decides to use her bark, sense of smell and magical fiery tale to be brave and seek out her friends in the wonderous Woolston Park.

For this episode Story Stitchers’ Tom Barry collaborated with the children from Year 3 at Bruche Primary Academy School in Warrington to create a tale of friendship and magic in the local Woolston Park. Tom & Flick Goodman then turned their work into a story book. Tom & Flick then returned to the class for workshops and recordings to bring the story of Izzy and her friends to life for this podcast.

Dandelion – Her path to brilliance begins when fairies were found everywhere. Wild Wonder is a podcast for families brought to you by Story Stitchers. We explore the outdoors and share stories about what we discover. Curated with our children as we believe that if children hear others speaking, it makes them feel powerful with their own voice. **Episode 1 – Dandelion** Dandelion swayed in the wind. Her puffball head rocking side to side with a big gust of wind and exploded the seedball like a firework in the nighttime sky… Her path to brilliance begins back in the time when fairies were to be found everywhere The favourite of all the fairies was the flower fairy. Her job was to seek out new flowers for everyone to enjoy and keep the flowers happy. Leafy’s Big Adventure

Leafy leads a simple life and eats the same things every day. One day his woodpecker friend encourages him to seek out new adventures and new food to eat.

For this episode Tom Barry collaborated with the children from Year 2 at Bruche Primary Academy School in Warrington to create the character of Leafy and his story. Tom & Flick Goodman then turned their work into a story book. Tom & Flick then did workshops and recordings with the class to bring their story of Leafy to life for this podcast.
