Episode Three – The Jackdaw
The Jackdaw was a black plain bird with small white eyes and a grey hood. He would hang around looking for opportunities to take little treasures back to his nest.
One day the king called a competition. He wanted to design a new flag where the kingdom’s best bird would be at the centre. Jackdaw desperately wanted to win and told his friend Magpie about his plan to compete for the position on the King’s flag. Magpie thought the whole thing was silly. Jackdaw sang and entertained the king all the time with Jester Jack, he didn’t need to be on any flag! An adapted folktale written, performed & produced by Felicity Goodman

Episode Four – Woodlouse
Woodsow and Leafty were siblings, brother and sister, part of a huge family of Woodlice. They weren’t far from a river so their land would be damp even in the summer, ideal for Woodlice to thrive all year round. But one spring the family were warned about a huge colony of strangers who had moved close by and were taking much of their usual supplies of food. The siblings, Woodsow and Leafty, offered to go to the strangers and see if they could find a peaceful solution… An original folktale written, performed & produced by Tom Barry
